Johor polls: PBM candidates to undergo anti-graft psychometric test

PARTI Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) guarantees that its candidates for the coming Johor state election on Mar 12 will be subjected to the anti-corruption psychometric test (RBTag) as proposed by anti-graft non-governmental organisation (NGO), Rasuah Busters.

PBM deputy president Haniza Mohamed Talha said, “This is in line with voters’ aspirations of wanting clean and accountable leaders. The party’s directive is also consistent with its six core pillars.

“Johor will be PBM’s maiden election and we want our candidates to be corrupt-free so that they can carry out their duties with utmost responsibility should they get elected.”

Three days ago, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir announced its candidates for the upcoming Johor polls will be required to undergo the (RBTag) tests.

“The test is also part of our commitment to provide the best service to the people and at the same time expressing the party’s desire to change the fate of the nation and country by ensuring a future free from corruption, with integrity and restoring Malaysia’s glory,” The Edge reported the former Kedah menteri besar as saying.

On related matter, Rasuah Busters strategic liaison officer Wan Normi Hasan said that PBM was the third party to have agreed to undergo the test, in addition to Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and Pejuang.

“We are also contacting every state assemblyperson and MPs to undergo the tests too,” she noted.
To date, PBM had announced it would be contesting for two seats in the upcoming Johor state election. – Feb 13, 2022.
