Johor remains a stronghold for PH-BN

THE failure of Perikatan Nasional (PN), especially losing by a large majority in the Parliamentary seat in Pulai, means that Johor will become a stronghold of PH and BN from now on, stated PKR Women’s wing information director Noraini Nordin.“The failure of PN not only means success for PH, but it also shows that Johor is a state that is immune to PN trying to break through. There is no future for PN in Johor.”She also added that the victory in Johor showed the compatibility of the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) machinery in working together and determining the best strategy even after nine months as one team.

She further added that it is also the result of hard work by the grassroots of both PH and BN.“This victory is nothing but the result of the hard work of the PH and BN machinery campaigning for almost two weeks to convince the people that the representative of the Unity Government should be chosen,” Suara Keadilan quoted her as saying.

The official result of the by-election in Pulai announced by the Election Commission (EC) tonight shows that PH candidate Suhaizan Kayat won with a majority of 18,641 votes, while in Simpang Jeram, PN candidate Nazri Abdul Rahman managed to retain the seat with a majority of 3,514 votes.

The fact that PN couldn’t secure victory in the Pulai parliamentary seat and the Simpang Jeram state assembly seat, despite their active presence on TikTok, highlights the discernment of Johor voters who seem to prioritise sound governance over political strife.

Noraini is also of the opinion that the results show that Malaysians have accepted the existence of the unity government which existed previously despite the confusion created by the PN’s propaganda machine.Suhaizan, who is also the Pulai MP described his victory in the by-election tonight as recognition of the cooperation within the unity government. He pointed out that the win also showed that the unity government was well received in Johor.“With a majority of over 18,000, this is a convincing majority for the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he told reporters shortly after he was announced as the Pulai parliamentary by-election winner. – Sept 10, 2023
