Kedah MB Sanusi dropping by mainland Penang to inject state PAS with enthusiasm in state polls

DAP which controls Penang must not under-estimate PAS’ chances in the mainland given that the charismatic Kedah Menteri Besar (MB) Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor will be around to motivate the state’s PAS machinery to face the upcoming state polls.

Surely, the Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional (PH-BN) alliance must counter the Perikatan Nasional (PN) onslaught after three of their strongholds – Permatang Pauh, Kepala Batas and Tasek Gelugor – fell to PN component parties comprising PAS and Bersatu during the 15th General Election (GE15).

In fact, Penang PAS deputy commissioner Yusni Mat Piah claimed that confidence is riding high of PN being able to capture 15 of Penang’s 40 state assembly seats with the presence of Sanusi who is also the PN’s election director to rally the coalition’s supporters.

“All attendees, especially those who are religious, were so impressed when the Kedah Menteri Besar casually remarked that we are confident of capturing Penang,” the Penaga state assemblyman penned on his Facebook, depicting Sanusi who was the guest of honour in an iftar (break fast) ceremony at the Seberang Jaya Muhajirin Mosque.

“That’s how the aura of DS Sanusi stands out and is admired by Malaysians at large. God willing, Penang PAS together with PN is ready to capture the state.”

Meanwhile, PAS Dewan Ulamak deputy chief Zulkifli Ismail described “how fearful PN’s political enemies are” upon finding out that Sanusi will continue to lead Kedah and become PN’s poster boy in this upcoming state elections.

“They know they have no hope of getting the support of the people in the state of Kedah and the same is true in other states,” he told Harakahdaily. “With Sanusi as the poster boy in this upcoming state polls, they know they have no hope of getting the support of Kedahans and the same is true elsewhere.”

Zulkifli who is also the Melaka PAS commissioner and Jasin MP also regarded the situation of continuous attacks against Sanusi as “a concerted action plan to kill the Kedah MB character”.

“That’s why I hope that he, in particular, has patience and a strong attitude to not succumb to such attack,” noted Zulkifli.

“And likewise, we in PN and PAS assume that attacks that were made and the generative perception that came about as merely nonsense ad never treated them seriously,” he added. – April 19, 2023
