KING of Malaysia Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar expressed his happiness with the smooth proceedings of the 2024 Hari Kebangsaan celebration.
After the event concluded, he shared this with Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the of the National Day and Malaysia Day celebration committee chairman.
Fahmi mentioned that the King was particularly pleased with the event’s punctuality.
“His Majesty stated that he was very pleased with how smoothly today’s celebration proceeded on time. His Majesty is very happy,” he said when met after the event concluded.
This was Sultan Ibrahim’s first official attendance at the Hari Kebangsaan as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
Additionally, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described this year’s celebration as the best he has ever seen.
The 2024 National Day celebration showcased unity and the spirit of togetherness with patriotism symbolised by the waving of the Jalur Gemilang and the presence of hundreds of thousands at Dataran Putrajaya.
Themed “Malaysia MADANI: Jiwa Merdeka,” this year’s event featured 13,009 participants in performances and parades, 112 service animals, and 439 land and air assets from various agencies.
The event began with the arrival of national leaders including Anwar, his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and both Deputy Prime Ministers Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof.
The celebration officially commenced with the arrival of the King and Raja Permaisuri Agong Raja Zarith Sofiah, in the official vehicle around 8 am. – Aug 31, 2024
