HIS Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia visited the site of a devastating gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, Selangor in the morning today, followed by a stop at the Putra Heights Mosque relief centre to distribute aid to affected households.
The fire, which erupted at 8.10 am on April 1 at a Petronas pipeline, produced 30-metre flames and 1,000-degree heat, taking nearly eight hours to extinguish.
Investigations continue on day five, with police and agencies like PDRM and TNB assessing the aftermath. Of 235 impacted houses, 87 are a total loss, while 148 can be repaired.
Meanwhile, over 150 victims of the April 1 gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights have registered for temporary vehicle assistance, according to Selangor executive councillor Ng Sze Han.
During a handover ceremony today, 30 more cars were distributed as part of a state-led programme offering one-month vehicle loans, facilitated through a Google Form process.
Supported by partners like Chery and Carsome, over 200 vehicles are now available.
Additionally, Panasonic Malaysia is providing 240 RM500 e-vouchers for household essentials, with applications opening today.
