KL Wellness City ups the ante in 10-day health & wellness festival

TWO years of a global market lockdown has seen the growth rate of Malaysia’s healthcare industry almost doubling in volume.

And with Malaysia moving into the endemic stage now, KL Wellness City is quick to capitalise on such prospect by holding community-wide workshops aimed at nurturing social, mental and emotional well-being for people to strengthen their immunity, have better sleep and to achieve a better work-life balance in addition to mental clarity.

With such goals in mind, KL Wellness City had on July 29 launched its 10-day Kuala Lumpur Wellness Festival (till Aug 7) at its gallery in Bukit Jalil.

Aimed at advocating and promoting the importance of wellness and healthcare to the Malaysian public by incorporating a comprehensive eco-system embodying healthcare and wellness living, its unique concept is modelled by the aim to re-define and strengthen the experience of health and quality of life.

As part of its ongoing activities, KL Wellness City is going all-out to promote activities related to wellness and healthcare with hopes of educating the public about developing a healthy lifestyle.

“We are aiming for the 10-day Kuala Lumpur Wellness Festival to be an annual affair for KL Wellness City,” shared its executive director (branding, sales & marketing) Datuk Seri Dr Vincent Tiew.

He explained that the purpose of this festival is to gather more wellness and health enthusiasts to visit its location at Bukit Jalil to facilitate the creation of a thriving health and wellness community.

Moving a step further by not only organising yoga and wellness activities – the activities are skewed towards creating awareness in a fun-filled activity packed space to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

A series of health talks, classes, workshops and exercise activities were planned to connect the community in its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. Key partners such as MCM, Gear Up, OsteoCare, LamboCellar, Zell-V, T-Dox, Tomei and Penfolds have stepped up to lend their support to this festival which saw participation from other wellness, healthcare and sports professionals.

Sharing further on the importance of this shift in mindset towards the importance of taking care of one’s well-being, Tiew said that “mentalities have shifted, driving us to think more about our well-being and driving us to act due to the quarantine and lockdown imposed in the  last two years.”

The workshops organised at KL Wellness Festival, he elaborated, play an important role in nurturing social, mental and emotional well-being for people to discover.

At the end of the day, the festival connects people and societies and educates them on the “Five Pillars of Wellness” – physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual.

This translates to mean better nutrition to strengthen immunity, improved sleep to increase creativity, deeper sense of mindfulness to enjoy serenity as well as increased movement to enhance vitality and a heightened sense of purpose to share together. – Aug 2, 2022
