A BODYGUARD shot at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 in an incident this morning is now in critical condition at a hospital in Cyberjaya.
The wife of the bodyguard Siti Noraida, 28, said that immediately after receiving information about the incident at around 2am, she rushed to Cyberjaya Hospital to see her husband who was receiving treatment.
“The hospital informed me that my husband’s condition is now critical and he needs to be put to sleep. I was also told that he was bleeding heavily and when he arrived at the hospital he was short of breath, but no vital organs were hit (by the gunshots),” she said to Bernama.
“The full-time housewife said her husband was assigned as a part-time bodyguard before last Ramadan. Surprised at the incident, she said she didn’t expect something like this to happen in the month of Syawal.”
The bodyguard was seriously shot at the Arrivals Hall of KLIA 1 early Sunday (April 14) morning by a man who is now on the run. The latter was aiming at his wife reports stated, but missed her and hit the bodyguard instead.
Earlier, Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that there had been a shooting at the KLIA Terminal 1 Arrival Hall early Sunday morning involving a male suspect whose identity has been identified.
Moreover, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (JSJ) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said the 38-year-old suspect had three previous records. He is in the process of getting divorced from his wife.
The suspect has two records: cases of criminal threats investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code and another case of theft and impersonating a civil servant investigated under Section 380 of the Penal Code and Section 170 of the Penal Code.
The suspect’s wife previously made two police reports regarding the case of criminal threats against her by the suspect (husband) and the latest case was reported in December last year.
As a result of the report, the suspect has been arrested by the police and the police are waiting for some further instructions (deputy public prosecutor). – April 14, 2024
