KPJ Healthcare names Suriaghandi Suppiah as new COO

KPJ HEALTHCARE Berhad has announced the appointment of Suriaghandi Suppiah as its new Chief Operating Officer effective Wednesday (Dec 1).  

Suriaghandi takes over from Nik Zainon Yussoff, who is leaving to pursue other interests. 

“We are pleased to announce Suriaghandi as our new COO. He is a proven leader with over 24 years’ experience in various aspects of business operations and proven expertise in investments, energy, healthcare, asset management and property with an emphasis on strategy, business turnaround and expansion which will benefit the Company in our next phase of product and expansion, innovation and growth,” said KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Ahmad Shahizam Mohd Shariff.

Suriaghandi was formerly the company’s Chief Transformation Officer who led the ongoing transformation of the company including its digitalisation roadmap.  

He has held numerous leadership roles prior to his time with KPJ Healthcare, including as the COO of Parkway Laboratory Services under the Parkway Group Healthcare and Deputy General Manager of Hospital Operations in Pantai Holdings Berhad.  

His experience in Malaysia, the Asia Pacific and Europe have seen Suriaghandi working with entities such as Khazanah Nasional, Pantai Holdings Berhad, Parkway Group Healthcare Pte Ltd, Savills and Salcon Green Energy (UK), KPMG and Pulau Indah Ventures, among others. 

Suriaghandi holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Monash University Australia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Chicago, USA.  

He is also an alumnus of the ASEAN Senior Management Development Programme from Harvard Business School as well as the Genovasi organised Design Thinking School by Stanford School. – Dec 1, 2021
