KPOWER Bhd’s subsidiary, KPower Engineering Sdn Bhd (KPEng) was awarded four contracts with a total value of approximately RM520 mil to undertake the engineering, procurement, construction, commission and completion (EPCC) of mini hydro power plants in Pahang.
The contracts, awarded by Cabaran Hijau Sdn Bhd, Selat Serasi Sdn Bhd, Denai Delima Sdn Bhd and Koridor Mentari Sdn Bhd, would see to the development of a 18.7MW power plant in Sg Jelai Kecil, 13.9MW in Sg Telom, 12MW in g Lemoi and 5.25MW in Sg Kampar in Perak.
The scope of work under these appointments includes the preliminary study, engineering, construction, supervision, testing, commission, reliability test, remedy of defect during the defect liability period and provision of all equipment, both permanent works and temporary works in connection with the projects.
“These projects represent our commitment to continue making in-roads in the renewable energy infrastructure space within Malaysia. The EPCC contracts in Pahang are our first (ones) in the state, while the additional contracts in Perak enable us to continue to expand in the state,” said KPower Bhd group managing director Mustakim Mat Nun.
To date, the Group has secured a sizeable RM2.3 bil orderbook in Malaysia, ASEAN countries and Nepal since June 2019. For this financial year, inclusive of these projects, KPower has secured RM1.2 bil worth of projects and is confident to secure RM2 bil for the FYE June 30, 2021. – Apr 26, 2021
