KSL Esplanade Mall to open in 2021

KSL Holdings Bhd’s retail mall, The KSL Esplanade Mall, which has a gross development value (GDV) of RM600 mil, is scheduled to open in April 2021.

The mall, to be operated by KSL City Management, is located within the 4.85ha integrated development of KSL Bandar Bestari in Klang, Selangor. It has a gross built-up of about  1.1 million sq ft and a net lettable area of 650,000 sq ft.

KSL Management project director Patrick Khoo says the mall has reached a 65% occupancy rate and is confident it will reach 90% when the mall opens. 

“We are forecasting it will have an average of 770,000 visitors per month that can increase up to one million during festive seasons,” Khoo said during the unveiling ceremony of the mall’s key partners on Feb 12. 

He believes with the company’s integrated projects that encapsulate the components of landed and high-rise residential, commercial, hotel as well as shopping mall, are one of its kind in Klang and could help rejuvenate the town.

Through the collaboration with well-known brands, KSL Esplanade will also be complemented by over 300 local and international stores and a number of large format retailers.  

The anchor tenants include TGV Cinemas, AEON MaxValu Prime, Daiso, EnerG X Park, Loon Sing Restaurant, Houzone, Next Gen, Mr DIY, Happy Fish Swim School, Ashley Furniture HomeStore, Tone & Mann, Karaoke Manekineko, FOS and ToyWorld.  

“We are also close to securing a group of renowned partners for the remaining retail space. We are confident of meeting our target within 16 months to the opening,” said Khoo. 

The mall also offers efficient access to over 3,000 parking lots from the four-storey building, and is linked to nearby roads, major highways as well as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) station at nearby Johan Setia.

Khoo said the company seeks to open its Esplanade Hot Spring Hotel in July 2021. The hotel, located adjacent to the mall and has a GDV of RM200 mil, will have 430 rooms. – Feb 12, 2020
