IN TAPAH, PAS Information Chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari refuted UMNO Deputy President Mohamad Hasan’s denial of a pig farm in Kampung Tanjung Keramat during the Ayer Kuning by-election.
Mohamad, also Barisan Nasional deputy chairman, called the issue a PN fabrication.
Ahmad Fadhli visited the site, confirming the farm’s proximity which was less than three minutes from the local mosque, causing odor concerns. He stressed the issue was about location, not race.
“I want to prove Tok Mat’s denial is wrong,” Ahmad Fadhli declared.
Meanwhile, Perak Menteri Besar Saarani Mohamad announced that concerns about an alleged illegal pig farm near Kampung Tanjung Keramat in Ayer Kuning will be addressed by A Sivanesan, Perak’s health and integration committee chairman, at the upcoming state assembly.
Speaking at an Aidilfitri event in Tapah, Saarani, also Perak Barisan Nasional chairman, urged the BN by-election team to avoid provocation despite the opposition’s use of sensitive issues in the Ayer Kuning campaign.
“As the menteri besar, I want to govern this state with a sense of peace and harmony,” Saarani Mohamad said.
The spat over the ladang babi expanded with AMANAH Perak’s Youth Chief Khairol Najib Hashim criticising PAS for politicising the pig farm issue in Ayer Kuning, accusing them of deflecting from their own inaction.
During PAS’s tenure in the Perak government (2020–2022), EXCO member Razman Zakaria, responsible for agriculture, took no concrete steps to address the pig farm concerns, including relocation or restructuring plans.
AMANAH highlighted that PAS ignored the issue entirely. ADUN Manjoi Mohd Hafez Sabri raised residents’ complaints about the farm’s odor near Kampung Tanjung Keramat, stating that they were frustrated. Khairol stated, “Not a single pig was disturbed.” —Apr 20, 2025
