Lagenda ropes in Misbun and Dollah to spur B40 community development

LAGENDA Properties Bhd, a pure play affordable homes developer which focuses on the underserved B40 segment, has engaged the services of national sportsmen Datuk Misbun Sidek (badminton) and Dollah Salleh (football) to steer its B40 community development programme.

This follows the roll-out of its Lagenda Privilege Club which aims to “give back” to the community through incentives/savings that include an additional 3% rebate in house prices and RM1,500 referral reward.

Datuk Misbun Sidek

“Misbun was spotted as an early talent in his childhood and was given a chance to train at the best facilities in Kuala Lumpur,” commented Lagenda Properties’ managing director Datuk Jimmy Doh.

“We would like to emulate this and give opportunities in the form of sports clinics and local competitions to encourage the community towards active, healthy living as well as to hone young talents.”

Lagenda Properties’ townships are concentrated in secondary towns, targeting the high percentage of B40 groups in these areas.

Based on a breakdown of income level, Perak sees 58% of its population falling under the B40 category, with Kedah at 57%.

Recently, Lagenda Properties and Bina Darulaman Bhd (government-linked company) inked a memorandum of understanding to develop affordable housing in Sungai Petani, Kedah (to be launched in 2022) which further demonstrated its commitment to these underserved areas.

Dollah Salleh

“I’m very pleased to be a part of such a beneficial initiative,” remarked Misbun at the launch event of the Lagenda Privilege Club.

“Lagenda goes the extra mile, providing so much more in the usually basic, affordable segment. This agenda of championing the underserved is important to me as the hardship endured by the B40 community is something close to my heart.”

Dollah added “In addressing sedentary habits brought on by lockdowns, Lagenda has demonstrated an eagerness to promote active lifestyles to homeowners and I am keen to do more for the community here.

“The Privilege Club is a welcome bonus for it will certainly make a difference for the B40 segment.” – April 21, 2021
