Alibaba helps Genting digitalise future visitor experience via VQ app

ALIBABA Cloud announced its partnership with Genting Malaysia to deploy the virtual queue (VQ) solution at Resorts World Genting’s upcoming outdoor theme park, Genting SkyWorlds.

Following the announcement that was made at the Apsara Conference 2020 on Sept 17, the newly developed system is said to integrate Alibaba Cloud’s advanced technology with a reservation system for individual rides.

The VQ solution is a system that leverages on artificial intelligence (AI) and integrates five algorithm modules, namely dynamic VQ slot prediction, dynamic gamification management, itinerary planning, incentive recommendation as well as crowd analysis and prediction.

With these modules combined, it will enable more efficient crowd management and reduce waiting time.

“When Genting SkyWorlds opens next year, guests will be fully immersed in a world-class theme park boasting many rides, attractions, shows and experiences unlike anything that has been seen before within the region,” Resorts World Genting Theme Park vice president Greg Pearn said when the announcement was made.

Meanwhile, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence general manager of Malaysia Jordy Cao mentioned that Alibaba Cloud will continue to support Resorts World Genting on its digital transformation journey to revamp Genting SkyWorld by providing powerful, stable and secure solutions and products from Alibaba Cloud.

Visitors will be able to download the Genting SkyWorlds’ VQ mobile app and purchase their tickets online at their convenience. Once the tickets are booked, the VQ mobile app will allow visitors to plan their itinerary or provide them with an alternative optimised recommended itinerary to offer them a customised experience based on their preferences. – Sept 19, 2020
