Discovering rare flavours

It was a culinary journey of discovery when Johnnie Walker Blue Label collaborated with Chef James Won to highlight Malaysian homegrown ingredients.

Focusing on notes of sweetness, saltiness, sourness and bitterness, a four-course menu at Enfin by James Won in Kuala Lumpur, featuring lesser known ingredients such as Borneo heirloom rice grain from the Long Semadoh settlement in Sarawak and Semai cocoa from Pahang, drew attention to different nuances found in the rich and smooth blended Scotch whisky. 

Only one in every 10,000 casks has the elusive quality, character and flavour that befits the Blue Label. Exuding the sweetness of raisins on the nose, the whisky also gives hints of vanilla and citrus fruits, balanced with a touch of spice and smoky flavours.

Imagine all this, paired with the fragrant grains from the Adan, Rumie and Keladi varieties; Malaysian Tropical Amur sturgeon caviar; single origin cocoa; and Job’s Tears. The unique flavours offered by these specially sourced ingredients, paired with the rare Johnnie Walker Blue Label, scintillated the senses and made  each course a gastronomic delight.

The Discover Rarity degustation menu by Johnnie Walker Blue Label is available at enfin by James Won till March 2020 at RM688++ and an additional RM268++ for pairing with Johnnie Walker Blue Label.
