These sustainability efforts include making a lasting impact through the recycling of abandoned plastics that are meant to be discarded in the ocean. These ocean-bound plastics are given a new lease of life by being remade as laptop enclosures, fan enclosures and even speakers.
In fact, over 1.7 million pounds of ocean-bound plastics are sourced for use in HP ink cartridges and hardware, keeping them out of the ocean. HP also leads the industry by using recycled plastics across its personal computer and print products.
An example of HP’s work to create a better future is the HP ZBook Studio G7, which is the world’s first mobile workstation with ocean-bound plastics. The HP Elite Dragonfly also comes with mostly recycled material in its mechanical parts.
These sustainability practices don’t just extend to HP products. Efforts are also placed in supply chains and operations as well. Currently HP has achieved a triple “A” score for transparency and action on climate, along with being named a CDP Supplier Engagement Leader.
HP has also been on the CDP Climate “A” list for six years in a row for cutting emissions, mitigating climate risk and helping to develop a low-carbon economy.
