MyEG steps up its game to slow down the spread of COVID-19

JUST over two weeks after the introduction of its at-home saliva-based COVID-19 testing service in the Philippines, My EG Services Bhd (MyEG) announced an online portal that offers hotel accommodations and amenity options to low-risk COVID-19 patients.

Dubbed as SafeQ, the service would allow the patients to have a more comfortable option to go through quarantine without the risk of spreading the virus to family members if they were to self-quarantine at home.

The portal (http://www.safeq.com.my/) offers hotel accommodation choices of varying categories, from three- to five-star hotels to cater to suitable budgets.

Optional services such as COVID-19 swab tests, transportation to the hotels and other amenities aimed at providing a more comfortable, safe and convenient quarantine stay are also available on the portal.

However, the eligibility of individuals to undergo quarantine at any of the available hotels would be subject to verification by MyEG and health authorities.

The Saujana Hotel and Silka Cheras are the first few hotels currently available on the SafeQ portal, offering premium services and amenities at prices starting from RM70 per pax for twin sharing at Silka and RM350 per night for a spacious suite at Saujana.

The rates charged are inclusive of three meals daily provided by the hotel. More hotel options will be progressively added to the portal in the coming days.

There are also numerous options for patients who intend to seek more luxurious accommodations at upscale participating hotels.

SafeQ is the latest initiative in MyEG’s series of efforts to help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country and its success would help ease the strain on public healthcare and quarantine facilities. – Feb 20, 2021
