Rooms with a view

From breath-taking scenery to relaxing massages and even a seafood buffet, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur has it all.

It was the view that literally took our breath away. After all, what more can you ask for, when you have a vista of the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and its surrounding park?

On a balmy Saturday afternoon, yours truly checked into Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur for a weekend stay.

From the warm reception on the Traders Club Lounge (located on level 32) to the fruit basket and chocolates that awaited us in the room, it was a pleasant experience from beginning to end. And of course, it helped that our room offered an unobstructed view of KLCC Park in all its splendour.

First on our itinerary was a massage for two at the hotel spa. We tried out the Freedom Massage, a 60-minute treatment (RM270) that can be customised according to customers’ preferences. One just needs to specify the body parts that you’d want the therapist to focus on, as well as the strength and time that should be used on each.

Our dinner was at Gobo Upstairs Lounge & Grill, which offers “Bucked Out Seafood Promotion” (RM149nett) every Friday and Saturday. It is the freshest catch in town, where you can “catch” your own seafood for dinner.

One can choose from a wide selection of seafood, fill in your bucket and pass to the chef, indicating your preferred sauce.

Needless to say, my dining companions and I had a whale of a time that evening.

After dinner, we headed to Skybar (on level 33) which is next to the hotel pool. It offers a varied selection of cocktails and yes, a gorgeous view everywhere you turn.

The next day, it is with reluctance that I check out from the hotel – after a hearty breakfast at Traders Club Lounge. Overall, I had an enjoyable staycation and will definitely be back for more, if opportunity permits.
