Following the “Sea Grape” and “Tortoiseshell”, the latest PROSPEX SLA045J1 diving watch is inspired by dolphins, evident with its gray-blue color scheme. The PROSPEX SLA045J1 “Blue Dolphin” limited edition dive watch is distributed by Thong Sia Group and its 300 pieces are exclusively available in Malaysia, Brunei, Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore.
PROSPEX SLA045J1 is a professional diving watch, which is based on the SEIKO’s classic diving model, the Prospex Marinemaster. It has an unique one-piece structure that combines the back cover and the case into one, while adding a screw-in crown to enhance water resistance, making the watch functional even `when underwater pressure up to 300 meters deep.
The back is engraved with waves that echo the diving theme. The case is made of stainless steel with a diameter of 44.3mm. The crown is specially moved to the 4 o’clock position to avoid scratching the hand, which is also a common design of the PROSPEX diving watch.
The watch has a “one-way” ceramic bezel, with pit patterns added to the side so divers can set the diving time and know when to surface.
Dolphins are known for being the smartest marine creatures, and of course man’s best friends in the seas. Stories about dolphins saving people are often heard. SEIKO took inspiration from our friends by featuring a dolphin-gray surface on the PROSPEX SLA045J1.
The surface is decorated with solar radiation patterns surrounded by a blue bezel, reminiscent of dolphins swimming in the sea. The surface design is simple yet bold, with classic luminous large scales and thick hands, which can clearly display time even under surface. There is also a practical date window at the 3 o’clock position.
The watch is equipped with a stainless steel chain strap with a triple folding buckle, and an extension device is added to lengthen the buckle by pressing the button, so that the watch can be worn outside the wetsuit.
In addition, it can be equipped with a blue silicone strap, allowing the timepiece more elastic and comfortable to wear. A high-end 8L35 automatic movement drives the watch with a swing frequency of 28,800 times per hour, and a power reserve of approximately 50 hours.
