Luckin Coffee officially opens its doors in the Klang Valley with 2 outlets in Bandar Sunway & BBCC

LUCKIN Coffee, the globally renowned premium coffee brand, has officially opened its doors in Malaysia today (Jan 23) with the opening of its first two outlets at Sunway Pyramid and Menara EcoWorld in Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC).

The official opening was celebrated at its Sunway Pyramid outlet alongside Hextar Industries Bhd (HIB), the master franchiser for Luckin Coffee in Malaysia; representatives from Luckin Coffee and the Sunway Pyrami management.

Coinciding with the opening of its first two outlets, the Luckin Coffee app has also been launched to offer customers a seamless and tech-driven way to order their favourite beverages.

The app is available for download on Google Play and the Apple App Store or customers can scan the QR code at Luckin Coffee stores to get started.

As a special launch offer, first-time app users can enjoy their first cuppa for just RM2.99. Additionally, Luckin Coffee is introducing exclusive app promotions to encourage customers to explore its menu.

“The opening of our first two Luckin Coffee outlets in Malaysia marks an exciting milestone as we bring a globally celebrated brand to local coffee lovers,” commented Global Aroma Sdn Bhd’s CEO Dr Jeff Lim Chee Lip.

“In fact, from the signing of the master agreement to the opening of the shop, it took only 43 days, a testament to the dedication, efficiency and commitment of our team to rapidly establish and grow the brand here.”

Added Lim: “Luckin Coffee’s signature Coconut Latte which has sold over 700 million cups worldwide is now available for Malaysians to enjoy. We’re committed to delivering high-quality and innovative coffee experiences at affordable prices … this is just the beginning of our journey to make Luckin Coffee a part of everyday life here.”

Hextar Industries’ major shareholder Datuk Eddie Ong described Luckin Coffee’s journey into Malaysia as “an exciting opportunity to transform the local coffee scene”.

“As the master franchiser, we’re focused on replicating Luckin’s global success by delivering exceptional, innovative and value-for-money coffee to Malaysian consumers,” he stressed.

“This venture is about more than just coffee – it’s about creating jobs, supporting local businesses and driving growth in the F&B (food & beverage) sector.

“We aim to introduce a modern coffee experience that is accessible to all while contributing to Malaysia’s economic development and enhancing the way people connect over coffee.”

Recall that in November 2024, Hextar Industries through its subsidiary Global Aroma announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Luckin Coffee Holding Singapore Pte Ltd to bring the Luckin Coffee brand to Malaysia.

This collaboration grants Global Aroma the exclusive rights to develop, open and operate coffee shops under the renowned ‘Luckin Coffee’ brand nationwide.

At the close of today’s market trading, Hextar Industries was up 0.5 sen or1.14% to 44.5 sen with 4.03 million shares traded, thus valuing the company at RM1.22 bil. – Jan 23, 225
