Luxury brands can now be bought at a very cheap price, claims a Chinese businessman

AS THE engines of the trade war grinds into a painful start, the sleeping dragon that is China is beginning to reveal its fangs.

Unlike the loudness of the tariff by America, China was a more subtle flex. There are already rumours that China may open the counterfeit flood gates in retaliation to the tariffs.

True to this threat, a Chinese businessman recently emerged into the limelight, explaining that people can now buy luxury products, at a much, much cheaper price.

The Chinese are beginning to spill the beans and it won’t be pretty for the Americans.

In the video, he claimed that for the past 30 years, he has been the OEM factory for most of the luxury brands in the world, such as Gucci, Prada, Coach, Louis Vuitton.

According to him, he wasn’t proud as the Chinese were only making a very small profit margin that covers their wages.

However, he claimed that the Chinese have the best quality control, craftsmanship.

“We will always be the best OEM factory for luxury brands. Why don’t you just contact us and buy from us. You won’t believe the prices we give you,” he said in a chilling conclusion.

His video has since taken the internet by storm. “Well say less, I’m going to get a $100 birkin then,” said an excited @sabundnce.

Also, @_JohnnyB33_ said he was looking forward to buying a $13 Dior purse.

The picture comment is equally hilarious:

However, @AdamSander90154 warned that when everyone has a luxury product, the status symbol becomes meaningless.

“Yeah, beyond a certain price point you’re no longer paying for quality, but rather paying for the luxury brand’s marketing budget,” said a woke netizen by the name of @Callum_Thomas.

But here comes the deniers in the form of @defithenorm who said, “No one buys luxury for a bargain. Being cheap is not a flex.”

However, @yvchuu believed that it was not about value, but simply getting rid of the middle man.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, perhaps it is time to dress ourselves up with those wallet-busting brands that we once thought were unaffordable.

It seems that the trade war has its benefits, that every cloud has a silver lining after all? But as one netizen warned, if everyone has a luxury brand, can we still call it luxury? —Apr 14, 2025
