THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is identifying overseas assets linked to Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s son-in-law Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan with plans to freeze them.
MACC deputy chief commissioner (operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said Adlan’s local assets, including bank accounts, have already been frozen as part of ongoing investigations.
These foreign assets are believed to be funding Adlan’s lavish lifestyle in the Middle East after his move abroad.
“All his assets in Malaysia, including his bank accounts, have already been frozen by the MACC in connection with the ongoing investigation against him,” New Straits Times quoted Khusairi as saying.
According to MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, Adlan has been living comfortably while on the run, frequently travelling across several Middle Eastern countries and even taking holidays in Thailand.
Adlan and lawyer Mansoor Saat are wanted over alleged criminal breach of trust related to the RM595mil National Enforcement and Registration (Biometrics) System sukuk project.
Adlan previously denied fleeing, claiming he left for business and would return if assured of fair treatment. Authorities continue efforts to locate him. — Oct 25, 2025
