MACC nabs GLC agency officer in RM300,000 bribery probe

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has remanded a senior manager of an agency under a government-linked company over allegations of corruption.

The senior manager, 41, had been remanded for five days beginning yesterday (July 20) to allow MACC to further investigate the case.

The manager was arrested at the MACC headquarters yesterday at 5pm.

It is understood that the senior staff member used his position to demand money as he oversaw oil exploration projects.

The suspect is believed to have received around RM300,000 in bribes for awarding projects in Terengganu.

MACC investigations director Norazlan Mohd Razali confirmed the arrest with the media and said the commission was investigating the case. – July 21, 2020
