PROJEK Lintasan Kota Holdings Sdn Bhd (Prolintas) has confirmed that several of its personnel have been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist in an ongoing investigation related to a construction case.
In a statement issued late last night (June 25), the highway concessionaire expressed its commitment to ensuring full cooperation with the authorities.
“Prolintas continues to be committed in maintaining the highest levels of integrity and corporate governance,” the statement read.
The arrests came yesterday when a top executive of Prolintas was detained for alleged bribery connected to two highway projects valued at RM1.6 bil.
According to an MACC source, the individual arrested is in his 50s. Two other senior officials from the company were also taken into custody.
The alleged bribes were reportedly given as a “reward” for the awarding of contracts for two highways in the Klang Valley, with one project valued at over RM1 bil and the other at over RM650 mil.
In connection with the case, MACC has also arrested five other individuals. These include the owner and management staff of a construction company involved in the projects. – June 26, 2024
