THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will submit a recommendation to the Attorney-General (AG) next week seeking consent to prosecute two former senior officials over alleged irregularities surrounding the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) development project.
MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman announced that investigations into the matter have concluded after statements were recorded from 30 witnesses, including board members, management staff, legal advisers, and independent valuers.
He said the commission would recommend that the two men be prosecuted in connection with the case.
“We will seek consent from the AG to proceed with prosecution. We may meet or present the case to the AG next week.
“If everything goes well and consent is obtained, charges could be filed in court the following week,” he said.
The two suspects – a former Felda director-general in his late 60s holding a Datuk title and a former Felda Investment Corporation chief executive officer – were arrested on Sept 6. They are suspected of misappropriation, abuse of power, and land transactions executed without board knowledge.
Pending the AG’s approval, charges could be brought to court within two weeks.
Concurrently, the commission is pursuing Mutual Legal Assistance to secure overseas documents and witness testimony in the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. — Sept 19, 2026
