The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied claims that it had deactivated its Twitter account recently, after social media users pointed out yesterday that the agency had gone offline on the platform.
The agency clarified that it was facing “technical difficulties” and was working to rectify the problem.
“In relation to claims that the MACC Twitter account @SPRMMalaysia has been deactivated, MACC wishes to clarify that the matter was due to technical issues on Twitter’s platform,” the agency said in a statement today (May 27).
MACC said it had reported the problem to Twitter and the social media network is working to rectify the problem.
“As such, claims by certain parties that say that MACC has closed its official Twitter account are not true,” MACC said. – May 27, 2020
