Madani gov’t backers troll PAS-ruled states, districts for topping nation’s drug addicts’ figures

A STAUNCH Pakatan Harapan (PH) keyboard warrior has belittled the “Undi PAS Masuk Syurga” (literally “Paradise Awaits If You Vote for PAS”) propaganda for failing to eradicate moral decadence to the extent that seven districts in three out of four PAS-ruled states top the country’s substance abuse numbers.

In a post on the X platform, JOKER🔺(@tjerealjoker) further listed down the seven districts (ranked from highest to lowest) alongside the name of their MPs:

  • Pendang (Kedah) / Datuk Awang Hashim (PAS)
  • Machang (Terengganu)/ Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (Bersatu Youth chief)
  • Bachok (Kelantan) / Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman (PAS)
  • Besut (Terengganu) / Datuk Che Mohamad Zulkifly Jusoh (PAS)
  • Dungun (Terengganu) / Wan Hassan Mohd Ramli (PAS)
  • Kemaman (Terengganu) / Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar (PAS) (also Terengganu MB)
  • Marang (Terengganu) / Tan Sri Hadi Awang (PAS president)

For context, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail revealed recently that the Pendang district in Kedah has the highest proportion of individuals involved in substance abuse nationwide at over one in every 100 people there.

The figure came up to 1,333 per 100,000 people in the data from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), indicating severe substance abuse among the Pendang populace. The national average is 432 out of 100,000 people and our target is to bring it below 400.

“Other districts with high numbers of substance abuse include those from the East Coast such as Dungun, Marang, Bachok, Machang, Besut and Kemaman,” the Pakatan Harapan (PH) secretary-general told a media conference at a special dialogue with the police in Kuala Lumpur.

Aside from JOKER🔺, CIKYANIE (@lady_bugg11) revealed how a well-known drug pusher among addicts around Kampung Baru and Sungai Tiang in Pendang was nabbed while he was busy packing drugs in a hut behind a house .

“The data source for drug addict groups is obtained from four sources, namely the Narcotics Department of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), the Malaysian Health Ministry (MOH) and private drug rehabilitation centres,” asserted CIKYANIE.

In a reaction, Jabi (in the Besut district) state assemblyman Dr Azman Ibrahim contended that while he is not disputing the accuracy of the data, it was interesting to know that the findings were announced by “the same minister who once said that PN was voted by young people with a low education level”.

However, the Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Food Security and Commodities EXCO was swamped by detractors who highlighted an array of moral woes synonymous with PAS-ruled states that range from drug abuse to smoking by Mat Rempit (bikers who indulge in hooliganism), rape/molest/sodomy, adultery/incest to pornography. – Aug 25, 2024
