Mahathir gets roasted for grandchildren’s unislamic behaviour, celebrating Christmas with a passion

WHEN your grandfather is an illustrious politician in Malaysia, there really isn’t much you can do without being scrutinised by public eyes.

This is one lesson Meera Alyanna Mukhriz will learn this christmas, where one of her content on Instagram got picked up by the “Malaysian Moral Squad” for being un-islamic.

In the video, she and her friends could be seen dancing while wearing christmas-themed attire which drew criticisms from the muslim community.

Netizen Amran Fans said, “Your grandfather was saying that the Malay muslims are being threatened and you are relaxing here celebrating christmas.”

Abdul Rani Kulup Fans added, “Help give a little advice to your grandchildren, grandpa. If you can’t even save your own grandchildren, how will you save the Malays?”

Strixvaria further claimed that such individuals are likely to vote for Pakatan Harapan.

The winning comment of course goes to bbnoRM, who said,” It’s correct that he says the Malays are being threatened because he is observing his family.”

No comment section is complete without a photo, so here’s one from Ayadola Kamoni.

halmi said the behaviour was alright as their grandfather is holding the key to heaven which was given by PAS, so there should be no problem to dance.

Now that the grand children are involved, expect more families to be dragged into the moral mud pit.

Hafizuddin Ali added that if it was Anwar’s grandchildren, surely they would say that the muslims are being threatened for 30 days and 30 nights.

When religious matters are being discussed, political party PAS is bound to get hit, so let’s appreciate a shot fired towards them from Tengilling Bisu.

One netizen further lamented that now people are normalising such things. She said that even in the office, people are celebrating Christmas and exchanging presents.

As for us, we find it sad that such innocent behaviours like dancing or wearing christmas-themed clothes to be frowned upon in a country that prides itself on multiculturalism.

Anyone can easily list down a great deal of dangerous things a self-discovering teenager can do at this time and age. Celebrating christmas with a passion is not on the list. We repeat, not on the list. —Dec 31, 2024
