Mahfuz hopes BN-UMNO will avoid a clash in AMANAH’s 20-state seats bid

AMANAH Vice President Datuk Mahfuz Omar gave his support for the party’s bid to contest 20 seats in the upcoming Johor State Election (PRN), citing the current State Government Council’s lack of reflection of the Unity Government’s composition.

Mahfuz believes UMNO and BN leaders are open to negotiations to avoid electoral clashes.

He stated that demands and claims over seat allocation are normal until a final decision is reached.

“This (the AMANAH-UMNO situation in Johor) is normal. As long as there isn’t a conclusive decision from the negotiations, there will inevitably be parties making claims, some saying this is their right, and so on,” he said.

AMANAH Johor recently indicated the possibility of competition between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN in the state elections in Johor.
