Mainland China employer gets roasted for ranting about his Malay workers

WILL the propagation of harmful stereotypes solve any problem, especially in a multiracial country such as Malaysia?

Recently, an employer from China voiced his frustration about hiring Malay workers on the cyberspace.

According to him, employees of said demographic were prone to taking leaves among many other problems he faced managing the workforce in Malaysia.

With such a comment, we can expect the cyberspace to blow up and for good reasons.

Caution is advised for the video post which came with English subtitles is loaded with enough dangerous stereotypes to put an average Malaysian politician to shame.

Having watched the video, netizen semutmerah said, “If I meet him, he will die from being shot. You people will understand.”

Another netizen added that only bosses think in such a manner.

“Even the Chinese people all want work life balance. Not only the Malays only but the white people do not want to crazily work until death at their offices. Even if they don’t die at their offices, suicide it plentiful. Is this what you want?” he said.

Netizen Kentang #KSA suggested that the man try opening his shop in Brunei. “Shops are mandatory to be closed on Friday,” he added.

A further pointed out that at China, the majority worked like slaves for a pittance. “Sorry, but not every country is like this. The rate of suicide in the China factories is high due to the stress from work,” said A, however, agreeing with the man that Malays may be bad at financial management due to their habit of buying extremely expensive street food.

DazzlingDawn added that this was why the British had to import the Chinese and Indian to Malaysia as the Malays preferred a balanced lifestyle.

“The Malays need to prepare for the afterlife as living there is longer, so who cares if we are missing in action during Friday midday,” she said.

For us, we like to think that Mister Stereotype in the video may have an unlucky streak at hiring employees. Chinese, Indian or Malay, they all have their good and bad apples.

And now that we mention this, it is vital to point out that there are bad employees and also bad employers too. Think about that Mister Stereotype. —Jan 14, 2025
