AirAsia takes Ejen Ali to the world stage

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia’s newly launched e-commerce platform OURSHOP is partnering with the Ejen Ali brand to carry the latter’s merchandise on the website, thus placing the local brand on the world stage.

OURSHOP CEO Lalitha Sivanaser said Ejen Ali has a huge following in the AirAsia family segment that would most definitely benefit from the special offers on the merchandise sold via the platform.

“It is at the heart of our business to showcase local brands on the global stage through OURSHOP, as such fans from all over the world will soon be able to have their favourite Ejen Ali merchandise delivered to their home wherever they may be.

“We are extremely excited with Media Prima as our official partner,” she told reporters after unveiling the collaboration at OURSHOP’s first pop-up store at the Lot 10 shopping centre in Bukit Bintang here.

The temporary pop-up store, which began operations on Dec 12, is open until Jan 1, 2020.

Fans of Ejen Ali fans can purchase the merchandise, including the stylish scooter, walkie-talkie, the latest line of back-to-school gear as well as limited quantities of the “Ejen Ali The Movie” official comic book, either at the pop-up store or on the OURSHOP website.

This is not the first collaboration between the two brands. In 2017, Ejen Ali and AirAsia launched the #MisiAspirasiAirAsia, where Ejen Ali’s Season 1 series was included in the airline’s in-flight entertainment as well as a special kids’ meal called the Lil’s Star Combo with Ejen Ali.

Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, CEO of Media Prima’s creative content production arm Primeworks Studios, said he hoped this collaboration would bring the Ejen Ali brand beyond Malaysia and into the homes and hearts of fans across the globe.

“Following the success of #MisiAspirasiAirAsia in 2017 and 2018 and with ‘Ejen Ali The Movie’ still going strong at the box office, we are excited to gear up Ejen Ali for another mission with the AirAsia group,” he added.

“Ejen Ali The Movie” reached another milestone recently when Primeworks Studios announced that the movie had collected over RM28.5 mil at the box office since its release on Nov 28 in Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei.

With the cinema release in Indonesia on Jan 1, the movie is set to break into another Asean territory with Primeworks Studios hoping for another massive hit. – Bernama
