COVID-19: Over 400 under ventilator support, more than 800 in ICU

MALAYSIA recorded an alarming 6,241 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 616,815.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 5,133 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 526,809.

“Eighty-seven have died today, bringing the death tally to 3,378,” he added.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again with 2,178, followed by Sarawak (600), Johor (565) and Negeri Sembilan (556).

“Of the current active cases, 890 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 444 of them in need of ventilator support,” he remarked. – June 6, 2021
