COVID-19: With rising cases, will inter-state travel be banned for Hari Raya?

THE upcoming festive season looks increasingly bleak as Malaysia recorded 2,331 new COVID-19 cases today, bringing the cumulative total to 372,859.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 1,832 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 352,395.

“Five people have died today, bringing the death tally to 1,370,” he added.

Selangor is back at the top of the infamous list, recording 751 cases. It was followed by Sarawak (512) and Kuala Lumpur (252).

Of the current active cases, 225 patients are still in receiving treatment at the intensive care unit (ICU), with 92 of them in need of ventilator support. – April 17, 2021.
