Cyberview’s virtual demo day showcases five startups to investors

By Xavier Kong

CYBERVIEW Sdn Bhd has organised its inaugural virtual Demo Day for five startups from its Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator (CLLA) programme, in collaboration with Finnext Capital, to pitch to potential clients and investors.

The five startups featured in the event on April 29 were ERTH, VITA, Red Angpow, Engage and Moovby, with the cohort they were from having focused on artificial intelligence (AI), financial technology, robotics and retail technology.

Each presented their ideas, being allocated six minutes to pitch to the audience, with six minutes after that to answer any questions. The ideas were, respectively, an AI-powered electronic waste recycling platform, an AI health app which provides early warning to future risk of chronic disease, an online map-based solution that conducts real estate due diligence and feasibility studies within minutes, an AI-driven customer retention solution, and a peer-to-peer car sharing platform.

“We are very excited to once again organise a Demo Day to conclude the CLLA Programme. Five startups at the tipping point of commercialisation were selected and through the programme, leveraged upon a launchpad to test and pilot their offerings within the smart city of Cyberjaya. Given the current Covid-19 pandemic, we made the decision to host our Demo Day virtually this year,” Cyberview MD Najib Ibrahim said.

He noted that “change can be a challenge, especially in this time of global uncertainty, but change allows us to adapt and progress.”

Since its inception in 2013, the CLLA has nurtured 75 startups, providing them with resources, facilities, mentorship, networking and market access opportunities worth RM100,000. These startups have been working at Colnnov8, a smart city collaborative space provided by Cyberview at its headquarters.

The CLLA provides an avenue for startups to experiment and pilot their offerings within Cyberjaya. To date, the CLLA has helped startups to raise over RM87 mil in total investments and generated more than RM218 mil in total revenue. – April 30, 2020
