Luxchem profit up 11.5%, declares 1.25 sen dividend

LUXCHEM Corp Bhd has posted a higher net profit of RM9.57 mil for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2019, or up 11.5% from RM8.58 mil for the same period last year.

The higher net profit came on the back of better sales in the “trading segment,” the industrial chemicals supplier said in a Feb 17 filing with Bursa Malaysia. But revenue for the quarter fell 9% year-on-year to RM187.16 mil from RM206.25 mil.

Luxchem also declared an interim dividend of 1.25 sen per share for the financial year ended Dec 31, 2019 (FY19), payable at a date to be determined later. 

Overall, based on unaudited accounts for FY19, Luxchem posted a profit of RM37.65 mil, a touch lower from RM37.79 mil a year earlier. Sales were down 5.97% to RM765.48 mil against RM814.09 mil in FY18.
