Malaysians feeling hopeful as new COVID-19 cases decrease

WITH the optimism from yesterday’s vaccine arrival on local shores still buzzing around, Malaysians are seeing a light at the end of the long pandemic tunnel as numbers of new COVID-19 cases and fatalities goes down.

Today, Health Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah announced that there were 2,192 new COVID-cases (total 285,761) and six deaths (total 1,062).

There was also a considerable amount of patients being discharged today at 3,414, bringing the total to 252,623 people that have recovered from the virus.

However, there are still 32,076 active COVID-19 cases in the country currently, with 199 in the intensive care units and 91 in need of ventilator support. – Feb 22, 2021
