KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened with mixed feelings on Valentine’s Day as a possibility of another round of interest rate cut by Bank Negara Malaysia to combat slower economic growth affected market sentiments.
At 9.09 am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) eased 2.25 points to 1,536.91 from yesterday’s close of 1,539.16, after opening 0.44 points weaker at 1,538.72 this morning.
However, gainers led losers by 155 to 120 on the broader market, with 205 counters unchanged, 1,498 untraded and 33 others suspended.
Turnover amounted to 154.88 million shares worth RM83.68 mil. – Feb 14, 2020, Bernama.
