New petroleum company FIVE to open first petrol station this month

KUALA LUMPUR: A new petroleum company, FIVE Petroleum Malaysia Sdn Bhd (FIVE), is set to open its first petrol station in Kalumpang, Selangor, this month, its chairman Datuk Juhari Abdul Ghani said today.

He said FIVE has secured a supply contract from Petronas as its fuel supplier to ensure that its fuel offering meets the highest quality standard.

Using the brand name Ultimaxx, FIVE aims to keep its brand promise of providing more economical and convenient high quality fuel, he added.

“FIVE is a unified energy company that aims to meet Malaysia’s growing demand for fuel in ways that are economically, environmentally and socially responsible. We also want to help Malaysia reach its next milestone in development,” he said at the launch of the FIVE brand here.

Present was Seng Group managing director and CEO Datuk Seri King Lim Chin Fui.

FIVE will be managed by the same team that built Seng Group, a leader in the petrol retail business for nearly five decades. The group also supplies and manages distribution services to petrol station operators, as well as constructing new stations.

FIVE received a licence from the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry on Jan 15, marking the company’s first independent foray into the petrol retail business.

Juhari said as part of the digital movement in Malaysia, FIVE petrol stations will feature a new mobile app that facilitates cashless payment.

“The company also plans to integrate partnerships, rewards and loyalty features into the mobile app in a bid to capture market share.

“Such partnerships will play an integral role in their petrol station convenience stores dubbed Woo! Mart and also feed into FIVE’s soon-to-be-announced consumer loyalty programme,” he added. – Bernama
