NEXEA, MDEC launch entrepreneurs programme to nurture start-ups

KUALA LUMPUR: NEXEA Angels Sdn Bhd (NEXEA) in collaboration with the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has launched an entrepreneurs programme for startups.

It is aimed at harnessing digital technologies to support the public, entrepreneurs, and businesses to help overcome the economic challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Entrepreneurs Programme is for CEOs of local startup companies to learn and grow together and provide experienced mentors as well as exclusive monthly full-day meetings.

NEXEA managing partner Ben Lim said the company gathered CEOs in exclusive forums for them to directly gain the perspectives of their peers who may already have the experience in solving similar issues.

“This is important because making an executive decision can be tough for new entrepreneurs, especially when faced by unprecedented situations such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We are seeing entrepreneurs struggle to keep business afloat now. At the same time, they also need to prepare for the long-term impact of the pandemic, ” he said in his welcoming speech at the programme’s virtual launch here today.

The programme was launched by MDEC Vice President of Global Growth Acceleration Division Gopi Ganesalingam.

Gopi said it would allow startups to explore business as well as collaboration opportunities.

“This platform even has the potential to generate novel tech solutions to meet the unprecedented demands of the new norm,” he added.

Lim said about 20 CEOs from local startups have already enrolled in the programme which began this month.

“Startups may apply for the programme through our website, and we will review each application. The programme is ongoing, and there is no deadline to apply,” he explained.

NEXEA is a startup investment company that specialises in supporting and funding technology companies that have the potential to be the next technology giants.
