Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today (Feb 14) on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM18.26 bil in the conventional system and RM11.82 bil in Islamic funds.

The central bank will conduct two RM500 mil conventional market tenders for seven and 14 days respectively, as well as, RM2 bil Islamic range maturity auction Qard tender for seven days to 21 days.

It will also conduct RM500 mil Bank Negara Interbank Bills Islamic for 30 days.

At 4pm, the BNM will conduct up to RM17.3 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM9.8 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – Feb 14, 2020, Bernama.
