Short-term rates to remain stable on BNM’s operations

KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today (Jan 14) on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM23.74 bil in the conventional system and RM19.15 bil

The central bank will conduct two RM1 bil money market tenders for seven days and 14 days, as well as, Qard tenders worth RM1.1 bil for seven days and RM1.2 bil for 14 days.

It will also conduct a Bank Negara Interbank Bills Islamic (BNIBI) worth RM500 mil for 91 days on Jan 16, 2020.

At 4 pm, BNM will conduct up to RM21.7 bil for conventional overnight tender and RM16.7 bil for Murabahah overnight tender. – Jan 14, 2020 Bernama
