Malaysia Airlines goes through humanitarian mission with Ebit Lew

MALAYSIA Airlines went on a humanitarian mission with 18 volunteers from Pertubuhan Kasih Umat Malaysia, a non-profit organisation under entrepreneur and philanthropist Ebit Lew’s patronage, via two flights to Tawau, Sabah.

The group distributed electronic tablets, wheelchairs, medical equipment and food items to a number of families and frontline members in rural areas.

“The challenges faced by the community due to the prolonged pandemic have never been more serious. As national carrier of the country, we are always ready to play our part in transporting aid in support of various humanitarian missions,” said Malaysia Airlines group CEO Captain Izham Ismail.

“Since the movement control order started in March last year, Malaysia Airlines and our sister companies MASkargo, MASwings and Firefly have also mounted numerous rescue, repatriation and special cargo flights for countries and organisations in need as well as to ensure global supply chains are maintained,” he noted.

Last week, Malaysia Airlines received full marks of seven stars for its COVID-19 health and safety measures from Airline Ratings.

The rating is based on seven criteria: COVID-19 guidance on the airline’s website, social distancing during boarding, flight attendants’ personal protective equipment (PPE), the compulsory wearing of face masks onboard, modifications to the meal service, passenger hygiene kits, and the deep cleaning of the aircraft. – Jan 28, 2021
