Malaysia records highest COVID-19 daily deaths with 39

THE COVID-19 pandemic situation in Malaysia continue to deteriorate as the Health Ministry (MOH) reported a surged of new infections to 4,765 in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, the nation recorded its highest daily number of deaths from COVID-19 pandemic with 39 today, bringing the total fatalities to 1,761.

In a tweet, Health Ministry director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 3,124 patients have been cured, with the total discharged now stands at 411,360.

Currently, there are 40,101 active COVID-19 cases in the country, in which 469 patients in intensive care unit (ICU) with 244 requiring ventilator support.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases again, surpassed the 2,000-mark, with 2,082 new COVID-19 infections, followed by Kuala Lumpur (540) and Sarawak (405). – May 12, 2021
