MOTORISTS beware! Car jackers have found new way to rob you of your ride.
A short clip shared by 요시로 왕자 (@cool_Wannabe82) purportedly shows a car thief attaching an item to block a car’s rear-view camera.
He then patiently waited for the owner to arrive at the parked vehicle who then alights when noticing something is blocking the rear-view camera.
That’s when the car jacker seized his opportunity to jump in and drive off whilst the owner was inspecting the back of the car.

The post has generated 589k views at the time of writing with many contending that this is a timely reminder of the inherent dangers lurking, even in public car parks in broad daylight. The warning was particularly pertinent for lone female drivers.
Some were sceptical of the authenticity of the video, reckoning that it was staged and filmed as clickbait.
Many asked why the need to engage reverse gear when the car was already facing the right way to exit the parking bay?
Whether staged or not, the video is a clear reminder to be wary and alert at all times, especially when driving alone.
One netizen counselled that drivers should only check the faulty reverse camera upon getting home to avoid such unwanted scenarios.
Motorists were advised to reverse park for safety reasons.
With a few stating this wouldn’t happen with cars that are keyless. So long as the key fob remained with the owner, the thief would not get very far.
One netizen counselled it was better to fit on-board rear-view cameras that were inside the vehicle.
While another suggested to best to turn off the engine before alighting to inspect. Drivers were advised to always be aware of their surroundings or be wary of suspicious people.
Of course, some just couldn’t help passing sexist remarks about women drivers.
One commenter cheekily remarked that this video was giving common criminals ideas.
All said and done, it is always better to be safe than sorry. Whether staged or not, motorists should be aware that the criminal class is always finding new ways to rid you of your belongings.
