Manforce Group seals MoU with SAY to empower local youth workforce

ONE-STOP manpower management outfit Manforce Group Bhd has emerged the main employment partner for Team Programme Malaysia with sights set on gearing up Malaysian youths for employment in diverse sectors such as retail (including grocery and food & beverages [F&B] chain), electrical and electronics (E&E) and glove manufacturing.

With this partnership, young Malaysians under the programme will be guaranteed employment opportunities once they complete the nine-week programme.

The Team Programme is a collaboration with Prince Trust International, a UK-based organisation founded by Prince Charles, the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II.

Towards this end, Manforce Group inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Selangor Youth Community (SAY) yesterday (March 23) to form a strategic partnership that empowers the local youth workforce.

“The Team Programme under SAY aligns with our group’s aim under Malaysians Development Uplift Programme (MDUP) to target young Malaysian job seekers, especially those from the B40 group,” commented Manforce Group’s managing director Datuk Paul Wong Boon Ming.

“It is a win-win situation to meet general manpower need especially since there have seen shortages in various sectors such as F&B, manufacturing and the services industry. At the same time, we offer employment opportunities for local youths.”

With Manforce Group being the main employment partner to the Team Programme, SAY is able to recommend potential talents from its pool of young people for the former’s clients as potential candidates for employment.

The final decision will be made by Manforce Group while this will allow potential candidates to build networks, training, and better understand the expectations of employers.

Additionally, Manforce Group will also support the Team Programme by providing training and various employment opportunities to youth under the programme.

“This is a perfect collaboration given both the Team Programme and our MDUP programme share the same objective,” Wong pointed out.

“As they have a pool of talents and we have the connection to employers, this will help to bridge the gap for both parties. Moreover, this is a good opportunity to encourage more local youths to understand the various job scopes across different industries in Malaysia.”

For the record, MDUP is a programme under Manforce Group to empower young Malaysians with the necessary learning, life, and work skills. This programme will enhance sustainable growth with a skilled workforce through basic industrial training while ensuring that young Malaysians fully understand and exceed the expectations of employers.

MDUP will sponsor local youths to participate in a six-month practical training course complete with allowances, accommodations and a recognised certificate from the School of Professional and Continuing Education (UTMSPACE).

Those who completed their training will be guaranteed a job as well as given the option to continue their studies to further develop their leadership skills for another six months.  – March 24, 2022
