MCO back in force if new cases surge to triple digits

SENIOR minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob today announced that Putrajaya is ready to re-implement the movement control order (MCO) if new daily Covid-19 cases breaches triple digits.

He was quoted by Harian Metro as saying that the government doesn’t have a choice if new cases continue to rise.

“We have seen a rise in cases for four consecutive days. The Health Ministry reported that this is due to the lack of adherence to the standard operating procedures (SOP).

“The SOP for Aidiladha will be announced tomorrow.”

He again reminded Malaysians to follow the guidelines set out by the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said yesterday that there were 23 new cases, an increase of two compared to 21 cases on Friday.

Malaysia so far has a total of 8,884 Covid-19 cases. – July 26, 2020.
