MEDAC to expedite delivery of aid under Prihatin package

THE Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (MEDAC) is committed to ensuring the initiatives announced in the Prihatin Package for Small and Medium Enterprises (Additional Measures) can be expedited to the target entrepreneurs.

MEDAC, through its agency TEKUN Nasional, has identified the mechanism to ensure the efficient delivery of the micro credit incentive.

In a statement, its minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said applicants only need to submit a one-month financial statement.

“Applicants blacklisted by the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) can be also considered.

“Entrepreneurs who have yet to register with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) are eligible to apply but they have to do so before the loan can be channeled to them,”  he said.

For more information, one can contact TEKUN’s hotline at 03-9059 8888 or visit its website www.tekun.gov.my.

In the RM10 bil supplementary stimulus package announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday, the micro loan scheme for micro businesses is extended to TEKUN Nasional with a ceiling loan limit of RM10,000 per company at no interest. For this purpose, a sum of RM200 mil will be provided. – April 7, 2020, Bernama
