ALL ministers, including the prime minister, and deputy ministers will take a two months’ pay cut, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a March 26 statement, adding that the money will be channelled to the government’s Covid-19 fund.
“This measure proves that the government is willing to help those who are affected by the effects of Covid-19,” PMO said.
The Covid-19 fund was launched on March 11. According to PMO, as of yesterday, RM8.49 mil, which includes an RM1 mil government grant, had been raised for the fund. — March 26, 2020
