More companies are stepping up to help flood victims ride out the storm

EVEN after most banks around the country offered various types of payment moratoriums for its customers in flood-hit areas, companies like Mah Sing Foundation and Spritzer Malaysia are also contributing in helping flood victims.

In Mah Sing’s case, the foundation donated RM100,000 to Yayasan Komuniti Negara (YKN) with hopes of easing the burden of flood victims in the East Coast Malaysia, focusing on Pahang, Johor and Sarawak.

The donation that was made to the YKN Flood Mission will be used to provide food baskets and post-flood assistance to the flood victims.

Mah Sing Foundation chairman Datuk Indera Syed Norulzaman Syed Kamarulzaman expects the donation to benefit at least 3,000 families in both Pahang and Johor.

“We truly empathise those who are affected by the flood and are very concerned for their safety and wellbeing, especially during this worsening COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that our assistance via YKN will go some way to easing the burden on the affected communities and the eventual aftermath recovery,” he said.

As for Spritzer Malaysia, the company took a more literal approach by distributing potable water to the flood-hit areas nationwide.

Since Jan 7, 2021, Spritzer distributed its potable water to affected areas in the east coast and southern states, including Pahang, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu.

To date, over 25,000 bottles of potable water has been dispensed to the flood victims, helping them maintain a healthy body and keep them hydrated. – Jan 25, 2021
