MALAYSIANS are getting better at adhering to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the conditional movement control order (CMCO) through good self-discipline, according to an online survey conducted by the Health Ministry.
Out of the 36,841 respondents that took part in the survey, 93.3% admits to constantly wearing face masks, practice social distancing (89.6%) and regularly washing their hands (89.7%).
The survey also showed that a large percentage of the respondents would not think twice of reprimanding those who fail to follow the SOPs, including family members.
However, the percentage dropped significantly for those who are brave enough to react the same way toward strangers.
“This survey made a very positive and exciting finding. It shows that Malaysians have high self-control,” said Health Minister Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
“All changes start from ourselves and this is the first step towards success including in fighting COVID-19 pandemic,” he added. – Dec 26, 2020
