Movie goers steal seats so as not to miss a local film: Netizens think this is too much

SOME people just can’t lose and that can be a really bad thing in a world where tolerance and cool-headedness goes a long way toward solving problems.

Recently a group of customers made some waves at TGV Manjung for coming in 20 minutes late to watch a movie.

It would have been another run-of-the-mill problem if not for the fact that they decided the beginning of the movie was too important to be missed.

The result? They went into another hall which showed the same movie and stole the seats from some other customers.

We can only wonder what movie was it that required such a drastic action. Apparently it was Blood Brothers: Bara Naga as reported by vocket.

TGV has told them to return to their original seats but they were unsatisfied, asking for a refund instead. The drama has since attracted a good deal of attention from the online community.

Netizen @robinthebirdd wondered what kind of mentality was this, that people who were late could have the audacity to ask for a refund.

Also, @tubes1234 appropriately pointed out that they were just 20 minutes late, as the movie has yet to begin.

People who watch enough movies in cinemas are aware that the start is populated with nothing but advertisements.

“Which villager was it that just experienced watching a movie,” @jdzakaria said for good measure.

@axavier0402 added that it would have started but the advertisement should take up about 15 minutes. Which means only 5 minutes of content wasted.

Then there was @maverick_rizz who suggested that customers who were late 15 minutes should not be allowed into the hall.

“They disturb the others who are watching the movie. We need to move and they had to turn on their flashlights,” he said.

Further on, @hattaalias claimed people are not allowed into a hall even one minute after an orchestra has started.

“Be grateful the cinema operator allows you in. But don’t be a nuisance by sitting in other people’s seats. If it was me, I would beat them,” he said.

Note that this article is not an advertisement for Blood Brothers: Bara Naga, although we are very much supportive of local films. —Apr 13, 2025
